"This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil." 1 Timothy 3:1-7

Why do I need to go to church?

The Bible emphasizes the importance of gathering with other believers for worship, fellowship, and mutual encouragement.

Hebrews 10:24-25

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

Matthew 18:20

"For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

Acts 2:42

The Fellowship of the Believers
"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."

Psalm 122:1

Psalm 122 A song of ascents. Of David.
I rejoiced with those who said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the Lord .”

Colossians 3:16

"Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts."

1 Corinthians 12:12-27

"Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.

Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it."

The Lord's Supper

Each first Sunday, we observe the Lord's Supper. We have open communion, and you do not have to be a member of our church to partake with us.

Significance and Purpose

Remembrance: The Lord's Supper is a memorial of Christ's death and resurrection. Jesus instructed His followers to partake in this meal "in remembrance of me" (Luke 22:19). This act helps believers focus on the central tenets of their faith and the significance of Jesus' sacrifice.

Community: It is a communal act that brings together the body of Christ, emphasizing unity among believers, reinforcing the identity of the church as the Family of God.

Spiritual Nourishment: Participating in the Lord's Supper provides spiritual sustenance, deepening one's relationship with God and fellow believers. It symbolizes the believer's acceptance of Christ and His grace.

Proclamation: The act of taking the bread and cup serves as a proclamation of faith, declaring the believer's belief in Jesus' death and resurrection until He returns (1 Corinthians 11:26).
